Rotary Club Woodlands Breakfast Funds Service Projects

The Rotary Club of The Woodlands held its annual Service Above Self breakfast fundraiser on March 2. U.S.
THE WOODLANDS — The spirit of civic responsibility took center stage at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center on Saturday, March 2, as the Rotary Club of The Woodlands hosted its annual signature breakfast fundraiser. Under the theme Service Above Self, the event brought together a capacity crowd of local dignitaries, business executives, and community volunteers to raise capital for the organization’s ongoing humanitarian initiatives.
The morning’s keynote address was delivered by U.S. Congressman Morgan Luttrell, who represents Texas’ 8th Congressional District. Luttrell underscored the necessity of character-driven leadership in modern politics and the private sector, emphasizing that the strength of a community is built upon the active, daily engagement of its residents.
A central moment of the breakfast was the presentation of the prestigious Service Above Self award. This year’s honor was bestowed upon Ann Snyder, a long-serving member of The Woodlands Township Board of Directors. Snyder was recognized for her multifaceted career in public service and her dedication to local education and community welfare, which have been staples of her tenure in The Woodlands.
The proceeds from the event are designated for a wide array of charitable efforts that define the Rotary Club’s mission. Locally, the funds will support youth leadership development programs, including the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp, and literacy initiatives within Montgomery County. The breakfast served as a showcase for these next-generation programs, featuring appearances by local scholarship recipients and representatives from the club’s youth-oriented Interact and Rotaract branches.
Beyond local borders, the Rotary Club of The Woodlands maintains a global footprint. The funds raised will also contribute to the international organization’s long-term campaigns, which include the global eradication of polio, the development of sustainable clean water infrastructure, maternal and child health advocacy, and international economic development programs.
The Rotary Club of The Woodlands, chartered in 1975, remains one of the most active service organizations in the region. By bridging the gap between local philanthropy and international humanitarian aid, the club continues to function as a vital resource for community advancement.
