Rotary Conroe Supports Families with Rotary House
Conroe Rotary Club donated $1,500 to Rotary House, offering affordable lodging to HCA Conroe patient families, waiving fees for those in need.
CONROE, Texas – The Rotary Club of Conroe has reaffirmed its commitment to the local medical community, donating $1,500 on May 13 to support the Rotary House, a critical resource for families navigating the challenges of medical emergencies.
Located at 1010 Riverwood Court, the Rotary House serves as a vital bridge between distant homes and the bedside of loved ones undergoing treatment at HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe. By providing a stable, affordable living environment, the facility removes the logistical burden of finding lodging for families who are often traveling from outside the immediate Montgomery County area to support patients in critical care.
Managed by the Montgomery County Hospital District (MCHD), the facility has operated as a pillar of support since it first opened its doors in May 2013. For many families, the house serves as an essential sanctuary during periods of profound stress.
The impact of the facility remains consistent and significant. In 2023 alone, the Rotary House provided 2,075 nights of lodging to 149 families. While the house maintains a nominal fee of $25 per night to assist with operational costs, the MCHD ensures that financial hardship never prevents a family from staying close to their loved one. The organization maintains a policy of waiving fees for those unable to pay, guaranteeing that access to the house is determined by need rather than the ability to contribute.
The continued operation of the Rotary House relies heavily on the generosity of local service organizations like the Rotary Club of Conroe, as well as community-wide fundraising efforts.
