Montgomery Co. Home Show Draws Crowds in Conroe

Montgomery Co. Home Show Draws Crowds in Conroe

CONROE, Texas – Homeowners looking to jumpstart fall renovations and outdoor projects gathered at the Lone Star Convention & Expo Center this past weekend for the annual Fall Montgomery County Home & Outdoor Living Show. Held September 9 and 10, the event served as a hub for local residents to consult with industry experts, discover the latest design trends, and support a charitable cause.

The two-day exhibition, held at 9055 Airport Road, hosted more than 100 exhibitors, ranging from custom landscaping firms to major home utility providers. Organizers noted that the timing of the show was intentional, aiming to help Montgomery County residents prepare their properties for the transition from the scorching Texas summer into the cooler fall and winter months.

A major draw for this year’s event was the focus on expert-led education. Randy Lemmon, the long-time host of the popular GardenLine radio program, headlined the weekend with multiple sessions dedicated to the specific challenges of gardening in the Southeast Texas climate. Lemmon provided attendees with actionable advice on winterizing lawns and managing landscape health as the growing season wanes.

Complementing the gardening advice, Tom Tynan of HomeShow Radio offered comprehensive strategies for home maintenance and value appreciation. Tynan’s presentations focused on high-impact projects, including energy-efficient upgrades and strategic kitchen and bath remodeling that can yield significant returns on investment.

The Outdoor Living & Lifestyle Stage, anchored by the team at Luke’s Landscaping & Design, proved to be another highlight. Discussions on this stage trended toward backyard aesthetics, with high interest in artificial turf installations, modern pergola construction, and advanced mosquito control systems—a perennial priority for Texas homeowners.

The show also fostered community support through a dedicated Fall Flower & Plant Sale. Contributions from local horticultural staples, including The Woodlands Rose Society, Enchanted Gardens, and Grandiflora Services, allowed visitors to purchase seasonal greenery directly from the experts.

Beyond the educational stages, the exhibition floor acted as a marketplace for regional and national service providers. Companies such as Houston Custom Closets, Aqua Pool & Patio, and Renovate with Integrity showcased the latest materials and technology available for home updates. Additional service providers, including Goosehead Insurance and Champion Energy Services, were on hand to help homeowners manage the insurance and utility side of property ownership.

The event’s reach extended beyond home improvement by supporting Inspiration Ranch, a Magnolia-based nonprofit that provides equine-assisted therapy and activities for children, youth, and adults with physical, emotional, and social disabilities. A portion of all ticket proceeds was donated to the ranch, which relies heavily on community partnerships to sustain its specialized programs.

Organizers kept the event accessible by offering free parking and complimentary admission for military personnel and first responders. For those who missed the event or are seeking information on future home shows, more details and a full directory of the participating exhibitors can be found at the official website, texashomeandgarden.com. The show was presented with the support of Texas Home & Garden Magazine.
