RenFest Pre-Season Event at Margaritaville Aug 15

MONTGOMERY, Texas – Residents and visitors looking for a preview of the upcoming autumn festivities can get an early dose of magic this summer. The Texas Renaissance Festival, the nation’s largest event of its kind, has announced a new partnership with Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe, to host a six-week pre-season residency beginning Tuesday, August 15.
The event, titled The Renaissance at Margaritaville, will run through Sunday, September 24. While the full Texas Renaissance Festival traditionally takes place at its permanent site in Todd Mission, this collaboration aims to bring a curated, immersive experience directly to the shores of Lake Conroe.
Organizers describe the experience as a weekend-focused event that transports resort guests and visitors into a world of medieval fantasy. Throughout the duration of the residency, the grounds of the resort will be populated by a rotating cast of performers, including knights in armor, jesters, villagers, and pirates.
Family-friendly programming is a cornerstone of the event, with live demonstrations scheduled throughout each weekend. Attendees can witness live sword fighting, archery displays, and theatrical performances that echo the atmosphere of the main festival. Additionally, a select group of artisans will operate a market on-site, showcasing handmade crafts, jewelry, and unique wares consistent with the festival's historical aesthetic.
Beyond the entertainment, the resort will offer themed food and beverage options designed to complement the experience. For those looking to secure their spot at the main festival, the resort will be hosting giveaways and promotional opportunities to win tickets to the 49th annual Texas Renaissance Festival, which is set to hold its grand opening in Todd Mission on October 7.
This partnership marks a significant bridge between two of the region's largest tourist destinations. By bringing elements of the festival to the resort, officials hope to build anticipation for the October season while offering a creative outlet for local families during the late summer heat.
The Renaissance at Margaritaville is open to the public as well as resort guests.
