Conroe Water: Mandated Shift to Lake Conroe

Conroe is permanently shifting its water source from groundwater to Lake Conroe surface water. Mandates require a 60% reduction in groundwater use by 2025 to mitigate land subsidence. This costly transition, including a $500M SJRA plant, means higher GRP fees for residents.
