Texas Beef Council Brings Grilling Experience to Montgomery

Texas Beef Council Brings Grilling Experience to Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Texas – The aroma of slow-smoked brisket and seasoned beef filled the air in Montgomery this past Saturday as the Texas Beef Council brought its "Beef Loving Texans" mobile tour to Montgomery Plaza.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 23, the 42-foot mobile grilling kitchen served as the centerpiece at 14421 Liberty Street. The event, part of an ongoing statewide initiative, aimed to bridge the gap between cattle ranchers and consumers while providing practical culinary education to backyard chefs.

Executive Chef Robert Hale of the Texas Beef Council and Chef Rogelio Garcia, known to fans as Chef Roilty, led the demonstrations. The duo utilized the high-tech mobile kitchen to showcase techniques for preparing smoked beef chuck roast and marinated beef sirloin flap meat. Attendees were provided with complimentary samples of both dishes, illustrating that high-quality beef can be approachable for home cooks regardless of their experience level.

The "Beef Loving Texans" campaign is a consumer outreach program funded by the beef checkoff, a federal program that requires a one-dollar assessment on every head of cattle sold in the United States. The funds are used to promote beef consumption and provide educational resources on nutrition and cooking.

Beyond the culinary tips and samples, the event highlighted the importance of the industry to the state's economy. According to the Texas Beef Council, Texas leads the nation in total cattle and calf inventory, with beef production serving as a pillar of the state's rural economy. The tour is designed to honor this heritage by connecting urban and suburban residents with the producers who work year-round to supply the market.

For those who missed the event or want to recreate the recipes at home, the Texas Beef Council maintains a digital resource hub. Residents can find the featured recipes, detailed grilling guides, and nutritional information at beeflovingtexans.com.

The mobile kitchen is scheduled to continue its tour across various Texas cities throughout the spring and summer. Organizers noted that the Montgomery stop was particularly well-attended, with local residents participating in interactive giveaways and engaging with the chefs on topics ranging from proper meat selection to internal temperature safety.

As the grilling season approaches, the Texas Beef Council encourages residents to utilize their online "Beef University" portal, which offers videos and step-by-step guides for smoking, roasting, and grilling various cuts of meat. More information on upcoming tour dates can be found by following the Beef Loving Texans social media channels or by visiting their official website.
