Conroe Lions Club Cleans Road, Serves Community

Conroe Lions Club Cleans Road, Serves Community

CONROE, Texas – The Conroe Noon Lions Club demonstrated their long-standing commitment to community beautification this past Saturday, October 21, as 25 members gathered to clear debris along a significant stretch of League Line Road.

The group focused their efforts on the section of roadway between Interstate 45 and Longmire Road. Working throughout the morning, the volunteers removed more than 25 bags of trash, clearing litter that had accumulated along the busy thoroughfare.

The cleanup is part of the Texas Department of Transportation’s Adopt-a-Road program. The Conroe Noon Lions have acted as stewards for this specific segment of League Line Road for several years, ensuring that the entryway remains clean for local residents and commuters.

While road maintenance is a highly visible aspect of their work, it represents only a small portion of the club’s community outreach. As part of Lions Clubs International, the Conroe chapter operates with a primary mission of service, focusing on sight and hearing conservation, youth development, and local humanitarian aid.

The club maintains a year-round recycling program for used eyeglasses, hearing aids, and mobile phones, which are processed and refurbished for those in need globally. Locally, the organization provides significant financial support through scholarships for Conroe-area students and contributes to ongoing research and awareness initiatives for diabetes prevention.

Community members are also reminded that the club serves as the lead organizer for the annual Conroe Christmas Parade, a cornerstone event for the city. This year’s parade is scheduled for December 9, and organizers expect another large turnout for the holiday tradition.

The Conroe Noon Lions Club continues to seek new members who are interested in community engagement and philanthropy. The club holds weekly meetings every Tuesday at noon. Those interested in attending a meeting, learning more about their service projects, or participating in future cleanup events can visit their official website at conroenoonlions.org for location details and contact information.
