MCAD sets the value. The Montgomery County Tax Office prints the bill and takes the payment. Use the official account record for rates, exemptions, and deadlines.
Not legal advice or a protest service. The usual 2026 May 15 protest date has passed; a later notice may carry its own deadline. Read your notice.

Protest and exemption deadlines
The usual 2026 protest date, May 15, has passed. A mailed notice can carry a later account-specific deadline: generally May 15 or 30 days after the appraisal district mailed the notice, whichever is later. Read the notice and use MCAD's protest process. For homestead and over-65 or disability exemptions, check eligibility and filing dates with MCAD; the Tax Office handles billing and payment, not appraisal protests.
